The English and Creative Writing staff team were delighted to see ten students from the programme graduate with first class honours from the university last week.
The successful students were Megan Shepard (who also won the Carcanet Poetry Prize), Esmeralda Gorniak, Claire Long, Lindsey Tuson, Rachael Gerrard, Imogen Barton-Wells (winner of the English Essay prize), Sophie Adams, Lauren Carroll (joint winner of the ‘And Other Stories Award’ for fiction), Katie Wolstencroft (joint winner of the ‘And Other Stories Award’ for fiction) and Michelle Hughes. The Octagon Prize for Scriptwriting was won by Rowen Walker. Cara Bradbury won the Governor’s Award for Student Representation.
‘It has been another fantastic year for our programme. These record degree successes follow our recent 100% satisfaction score in the National Student Satisfaction Survey and our Guardian League table ranking at second in the UK for English and Creative Writing.”
